After creating a Uplay account simply head here and register with your Facebook account for you chance to be picked. Along with you name and occupation you get to chose 3 facts about yourself to be included into the game, (so have some fun, i did).

Veteran racing game developer Codemasters has announced a ridiculously special edition of Grid 2 that has taken the world record of most expensive game ever.

More comfortable than spandex

Grid 2: Monaco Edition comes complete with your very own racing suit, and supercar! Yes you read that right, should you fork out the crazy sum of £125,000 (nearly $196,000) you will be the owner of your very own street legal racing car.

Codemasters made the following statement about the impressive machine ”The BAC Mono is a British manufactured, road-legal, ultra-high performance supercar which stars in the game. Created from high-strength carbon fibre, the BAC Mono is an unrivalled example of light-weight performance engineering and its 2.3 litre, 280 bhp four cylinder power plant will propel its driver from 0-60 m.p.h. in just 2.8 seconds.”

Rather obviously there is only 1 copy of the Monaco Edition, along with the car and sweet racing suit you also receive a PS3 and you also get to spend the day at the BAC factory to customise the supercar.

Unfortunately i won’t be able to buy this myself, (boss doesn’t pay enough) but I would love to hear from anyone who is even thinking about it.

In what can only be described as a dark day for gaming Atari has announced that it will attempt to auction off it’s gaming assets to try and lessen the losses from it’s bankruptcy.

It was back in January when Atari first filed for bankruptcy and has since tried and failed to find a buyer for it’s entire gaming catalogue.

The auction is set to take place over the space of 4 days throughout July. Titles confirmed to go under the hammer so far include Rollercoaster Tycoon for a minimum bid of $3.5 million, Total Annihilation for a minimum bid of $250,000 and Test Drive for a minimum bid of $1.5 million.

Anyone who has ever held a game controller should know that Atari were the innovators behind games such as Pac-Man and Pong, I believe it is safe to say that we can all hang our heads in respect for this once great company.

Good evening everyone and welcome to the latest edition of Top Tech Thursday.

This week i’m bringing you news about something that I personally would love to have, a little device created by Hammacher Schlemmer looks to pave the way for quick and easy self made haircuts.

For anyone that has ever cut their own hair you know just how difficult it can be, that aparently will become a problem of the past if you believe the hype around the Single Handed Barber.

Kinda looks more like a portable brain scanner to me

This nifty little trimmer is accompanied by a promise from the company to “make cutting your hair as simple as combing it”, a majority of the ease is given credit to the design which allows the user to comfortably and single handedly control the device to trim their hair. The actual cutting is done by a rotary system of stainless steel blades that allows the hair to be cut in any direction, with the makers claiming the unit adapts nicely to the contours of the head.

The unit has 4 adaptable lengths at 1/8-, 1/4-, 3/8- and 1/2-inch along with a rechargeable battery which only gives four five-minute sessions after a 16-hour charge. While this will be by no means a replacement for a trip to the salon for those with luscious locks it could very well be the end of the pesky hair cut for those who prefer short hair (such as myself).
We have a great bout today and will finally have an answer to the age old question, can you have a child AND still enjoy gaming?

Like so many other people I started my gaming at an early age. It all started for me with Donkey Kong, I would sit for hours on end making sure I collected every banana from every level possible. It wasn’t too long before my palate had matured enough to need more from my gaming time, sadly the cute little arcade games no longer satisfied my gaming needs. For what seemed like an eternity I searched for a game I could get full enjoyment out of, I finally found it when I managed to get my first play on Final Fantasy 7. My first time playing it was in a gaming store that had it on display, sure it was only about a 10 minute play but it was enough for me to know I had found my niche, this WAS the game that would fulfil my gaming needs.

What kid wouldn’t love the story of the best RPG ever?

Over the years my gaming needs have taken me to many different worlds, and I’ve met more people than I could count, but none of them have had quite the impact on my life that my children have. Of course, children trump games on graphics, but the games have the upper hand as they don’t come with smell-o-vision and you can turn them off when you’ve had enough.

But the question still remains, can the two possibly coexist? I’m not talking about the ancient family board games, I’m talking about those weeks I sunk into Final Fantasy, how about the months spent playing World of Warcraft.

The productivity killer!

Unfortunately, this isn’t a simple as yes or no. Everyone knows children take up an extreme amount of time, but is there a way to still be able to be a devoted gamer and a parent? My answer is yes.

Speaking from experience its not always an easy thing to do. The first 6 months of the babies life is usually easy going, unless you really like sleeping at night. Obviously you can’t put the baby to bed and sit up playing till the wee hours of the morning and expect to be uninterrupted, it just ain’t gonna happen. So the best solution I found is while the baby sleeps during the day is the best time to get in your gaming fix.

Generally between 6 and 12 months the baby gets itself into a routine and will start to sleep at night so that can change if you’re lucky.

There is always a way to find balance between your family and gaming time, you need to find the medium. I have even gone to The extent of involving my kids into game time, my 5 year old son happily sits at my computer desk while we go hunting for tigers on far cry 3, when my daughter was a baby she would be at my feet in her bounces whilst i was breaking faces in fight night and my youngest son laughs himself silly when he watches me play guitar hero.

Involving the whole family is more fun than ever thanks to the WII

There is nothing wrong with playing games, even when you get older you’re never too grown up to play. If you’re a console gamer give your child a spare (preferably unplugged) controller, if you prefer the PC, “plug” in another mouse for them. Sure, it might be in front of a screen, but it is still incredible bonding time that you’ll both never forget.

So raise up your controller or your mouse, hold your child on your lap and together you can both change your world!
