The End Is Nigh, Say Goodbye to Games For Windows Live
After reporting that Microsoft would shut down the Games For Windows Live PC Marketplace earlier this week it comes as no surprise that Microsoft have future plans to can the service completely.
Microsoft seemingly slipped up when they posted the following on the Age of Empires Online support page on Xbox.com earlier today, however, it has since been removed.
“Games for Windows Live will be discontinued on July 1, 2014. Although it is available through Steam, Age of Empires Online requires features of the Games for Windows Live service. You can continue to enjoy all the features of Age of Empires Online as the service will remain 100% operational until July 1, 2014 when the server will shut down.”
While Microsoft are still yet to comment on the posting, it seems rather clear that it’s time to say goodbye to one of the most hated online gaming services ever created.
