Microsoft Closing Games For Windows Live Marketplace

by

Great news everybody, arguably the most hated of all PC online gaming services is set to be shut down by the 22nd of this month.

The official post on the xbox support page states “As part of the recent Xbox 360 system update, Microsoft Points will be retired and the Xbox.com PC Marketplace will be closed as of August 22, 2013. We encourage you to spend your Microsoft Points balance prior to this change. Although you will not be able to purchase new games, you can continue to enjoy previously purchased content by downloading it through the Games for Windows Live client software as usual.”

While the online service itself will still run your games the option to purchase new ones will be removed, along with any remaining points you have so be sure to spend them before the 22nd.
