In the lovely Cologne, Germany at GAMESCOM 2012, Razer have announced the world’s smartest keyboard. Touche, Razer.

Fans of Razer will know that they are very proud of their new technology, the Switchblade UI, which can be seen on the Razer Blade Gaming Laptop and the Star Wars: The Old Republic gaming keyboard in all it’s glory. The Switchblade UI is a crazy little customizable control panel with 10 dynamic, tactile keys that can be used to bind commands, macros, spells and all other things that give the user the competitive advantage in-game. It also has an LCD panel below the keys which has two modes, first is displaying critical in-game information, such as damage dealt, countdown timers (handy when keeping track of when baron buff is next up in league of Legends) and multitasking such as watching a being on FaceBook while staying in game. The second mode is that it is a highly sensitive, multi-touch trackpad with intuitive gestures built-in, which offers a different way to navigate games or PC desktops.

Apart from just the Switchblade UI (what else do you need though?), the DeathStalker Ultimate comes with Chiclet style key caps (for those unsure what Chiclet style key caps are, Wikipedia knows right here), Tri-colour backlit keys so you can finally match up your peripherals glow, fixed wrist rest… A bunch of stuff! Here, let me list them below in a sexy dot point fashion.

  • 4.05” touch screen able to run widget apps
  • Track pad with gesture support
  • 10 dynamic display keys with 80hz response time
  • Chiclet style key caps
  • Tri-colour backlit keys
  • 1000Hz Ultrapolling
  • Fully programmable keys with on the fly macro recording
  • Razer Synapse 2.0 enabled
  • Dedicated Gaming mode
  • 5 additional macro keys
  • Anti-ghosting capability for up to 10 simultaneous key presses
  • Braided fiber cable
  • Fixed wrist rest

The Razer DeathStalker Ultimate gaming keyboard will be available Worldwide in September, 2012 at a US price of $249.99. No word yet from Razer if they will be providing new pants for everyone who reads this article announcing this piece of win.
