Sniper Elite V2

Its 1945 in the middle of WWII with Germany, America and Russia racing to build missiles to change the course of the war in their favour. Your mission is to stop Russia from stealing the V2 Rocket scientists by any means necessarily.

Sniper Elite V2 dumps you in the middle of berlin alone to navigate pass (or through) German guards to complete your objectives. Sniper Elite V2 gives you large control of where and how you precede through a level from running and gunning, which usually leads to you being taken out rather quickly, to perching up in a bombed out building aiming down your scope shooting a live grenade on a guards belt taking out a patrol.

Scoping:
Scoping is one of the areas that Sniper Elite V2 excels at. When scoping in the game you have to consider a number of factors depending on the difficulty level. Things to consider include gravity, wind speed and direction and your own heart rate. These make the game more realistic unlike point and click shooters where the crosshair is where the shot will go. Scoping also gives players an extra sense of accomplishment with a well placed shot allowing for X-Ray shots.

X-Ray Shots:
When everything goes to plan and the bullet hits the target with the kill shot the game switches to an X-Ray shot. This is where the bullets trajectory is followed at different camera angles and when it impacts it shows an X-Ray view of the victim with the bullet puncturing through different areas such as skull, lungs, heart and groin. (Due to the nature of these shots we are not putting a picture up but a Google search can find them)

Gameplay
Sniper Elite V2 has a solid gameplay including the ability to lay trip mines to cover your back while you’re scoping. It also allows for players to pick how they run through the game without large restriction. The gameplay also allows for a mixture of scoping and up close or explosive ways of dealing with the enemies. While this does allow for a variety of ways through the levels it can lead to a repetitive gameplay.

Good:
X-Ray Vision
Freedom of style of play

Bad:
Can get repetitive.

Final Word
Sniper Elite V2 is a highly enjoyable game with a realistic element.
