NEWS – Help Stop SOPA

SOPA or Stop Online Piracy Act is quite literally out to kill the internet. The video above by Mike Mozart states the contradictions and ironies of the companies lobbing to get this bill past in the US.

I know the video is long but watch it as knowledge is power and he explains everything pretty well. Now many of you will also be asking, “What the hell does this have to do with gaming???” Well good things come to those who wait sir. You know your favourite gaming commentators and Esports casters, do you know what they use in their videos. Yep games, copyrighted material to entertain the audience. With this bill they can get up to 5 years jail for playing a freaking game. Now some maybe thinking, “Their not going to sue us for playing their games.” Maybe but fact is they can. The big companies such as Nintendo, Electronic Arts and Sony were in fact in favour of SOPA. They have vanished from the supporters list but they aren’t against it either.

This bill is not good for the internet. It may even be worse that the infamous ‘Great Firewall of China’ and if you think because you live outside of the US you are safe, your not. The US are adamant about suing you millions for not breaking your countries laws. Help stop SOPA and get the word spread. We want our freedom on the internet.
